MRS. AGATHA TOEWS

Agatha Toews (nee Konrad) was born on May 23rd, 1886 in the village of Tiegenhagen, South Russia. At the age of 14 she received Christ as her personal Saviour and Lord of her life, and was baptized and received into the M.B. Church at Rueckenau. She remained an active member as long as she had health and was faithful to the end.

On April 10th, 1910, she entered the bond of holy matrimony with Jacob Toews. Following the Revolution in Russia, the doors to Canada were opened and the family was privileged to emigrate. Her marriage was blessed with 5 children (1 son and 4 daughters) all of whom are living at present. One daughter and family (at present residing in California) were not able to be present at the funeral.

Agatha Toews always enjoyed good health, but on September 20th, 1958, she suffered a heart attack, and was bedridden until June, 1959. The Great Physician healed her to the extent that the family was able to take her home and care for her for another 5 years (up to April 28th, 1964). At this time she suffered another heart attack and was taken to Concordia Hospital where she remained for about 4 months. On September 11th she was moved to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, where on September 16th, her Lord and Maker called her to her eternal rest.

We would want to thank all who have in any way expressed love and kindness to our dear mother as well as to us, during the past years. A special thank you goes to the doctors and nurses who so faithfully cared for her. May God bless you for it!

We sorrow, but not as such who have no hope. We look forward to the day when we shall be united with her and many others in a better land. The bereaved family
