Katharina Tilitzky died Mar. 23 in Herbert, Sask. She was born Dec. 3, 1904 to Heinrich and Maria Andres in Grunthal, Man. In 1910 the family homesteaded near Herbert. She attended school to grade 4. Her mother died when Katharina was 13; she looked after her younger siblings. She accepted Christ during revival meetings with Johan Kroeker at Greenfarm, Sask. and was baptized in 1918 by J.W. She was lonely but her faith in God grew stronger. She married Jacob Tilitzky Apr. 17, 1932 in Greenfarm MB Church. They farmed. She cared for others, including her parents when they returned to Herbert. She loved gardening, especially African violets. She sewed, quilted, crocheted, hooked rugs and made dolls. Predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters, she is mourned by Jacob; daughters Elsie Thiessen of Swift Current, Sask., Nettie Wiebe of Regina and Mary Christianson of Nanoose Bay, B.C.; son Ben of Edmonton; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; 1 brother.
