IMMIGRANT OF 1874 CALLED BY DEATH IN SOUTH DAKOTA

Marion, S. D. — Jacob D. Tieszen, 90, who was among the pioneer Mennonite immigrants to come here from Russia in 1874, died on Sept. 22 at the age of 90. Funeral services were held at the Bethesda Mennonite church, with Rev. T. A. van der Smissen and Rev. A. P. Waltner in charge.

Mr. Tieszen, a retired farmer, had lived here continuously since his immigration. His wife, six children, 15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one brother, Rev. David D. Tieszen, survive.
