DR. HENRY P. TIESZEN

Henry P. Tieszen was born near Marion, S. D. on Feb 24, 1887, to Peter D. and Susanna Deckert Tieszen. He died suddenly at his home in Marion on March 19, 1975, reaching the age of 88.

On July 8, 1907 he was baptized by Rev. Derk P. Tieszen and joined the Bethesda Mennonite Church near Marion, where he remained a faithful member until the time of his death.

He was married to Aganetha Ewart on Feb. 27, 1908 by Rev. Derk P. Tieszen. They shared joys and sorrows for 67 years. this union was blessed with five daughters and one son, of whom one son and one daughter preceded him in death in infancy.

Dr. Tieszen is survived by his widow, Aganetha; four daughters, Ida Rose Hofer of Marion, Arpa Ruth and husband Jacob H. Tschetter of Fairmont, Minn., Johanna and husband Theodore J. Hofer of Marion, and Luella and husband Randy Penner of Hudson, Wis.; eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Isaac, Fred, and Frank Tieszen, all of Marion; two sisters, Mrs. Sam J. Schmidt of Freeman, S. D. and Mrs. Elizabeth Wiens of Marion. — The Family.
