MISS ADA THUT

Miss Ada Thut of Doylestown, Pa. passed away April 19, 1958, in the Southern Division of the Einstein Center, Philadelphia, following a prolonged illness.

Born in Danboro, Pa., she was the daughter of Timothy and Sarah Thut of Clinton Street, Doylestown. At the age of two her parents moved to Colorado where she received her early education. She attended Millersville State Teachers College, was graduated from Goshen College, Indiana, and did graduate work at Temple University.

She was presently employed as the dietician at the Council Rock Junior-Senior High and the Newtown Joint Elementary Schools. Prior to coming to the Newtown Schools, she taught home economics at the Richboro School for ten years, and previous to that time she had held teaching positions at the Hatfield, Doylestown Township and Lower Makefield Township schools.

As a member of the Deep Run Mennonite Church of the General Conference, she exhibited a spirit of dedication to her Lord. Her whole life was one of service to Him. she taught in Sunday school and was most helpful in the work of vacation Bible school. Her insights and spirit were most helpful in women's work. Loyalty to her church and interest were revealed in her attendance at numerous conferences, including the World Conference of Mennonites in Switzerland. Her gracious spirit and kindness carried into every phase of her life.

Besides her parents, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Paul Detwiler, Doylestown.

Funeral services were in charge of her pastor, Rev. Claude F. Boyter, and were conducted in Doylestown. Burial was at the Doylestown Mennonite Cemetery.
