LEON M. THOMAS

Leon Myer Thomas, son of Amos and Martha (Myer) Thomas, was born Aug. 20, 1924, at Lancaster, Pa., and died Dec. 23, 1990, at Lancaster at age 66.

On Nov. 27, 1947, he was married to Jean Miller, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Warren, Everett, and Lowell; two daughters, Greta Edgel and Gretchen Thomas; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Lois A. Thomas (his twin), Rhoda E. Buchen and Miriam M. Burkholder. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nadine.

During the early 1940s, he served in Civilian Public Service at Luray, Va., and in the Material Aid Program with Mennonite Central Committee in Kalona, Iowa.

He was a member of Neffsville Mennonite Church, Lancaster, where services were held Dec. 29, 1990, with Linford King and Paul Dagen officiating. Interment was in the New Danville Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster.
