MRS.KATIE THELEMAN

Mrs. Katie Sawatzky Minsch Theleman, 118 Friesen Ave., Reedley, Calif., daughter of Jacob and Agnes Schroeder Sawatzky, was born at Corn in Washita County, Okla. August 28, 1911.

She received her formal education in the country schools of that community. In December of 1929 she was married to Irvin Minsch at which time they moved to Wichita, Kansas. All of their children were born there. During the ensuing years they also lived in Newton, Kansas. It was there that upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour she was baptized and became a member of the Baptist church. Their married life had its problems and ended unfortunately. In October of 1945 she with her children moved to Reedley, Calif.

On May 20, 1955 she was married to Charles Theleman. This new companionship meant much to her especially at the time of her illness.

She was a good mother, giving her best to the family. She worked hard for a living. While living in Reedley they worshipped faithfully at the First Mennonite Church.

Her health was poor during the last months, when it was recognized that she had cancer. She passed away at the General Hospital in Fresno, Calif., May 13, at 2:55 a.m. at the age of 44 years.

Left to mourn her early passing are her husband, Charles Theleman; three children, Donna, Mrs. Walter E. Hemphill of Derby, Kansas, Keith and Patsy of Reedley; two brothers, David J. of Prescott, Arizona, and Henry of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Anna, Mrs. Jacob Wiebe of Clinton, Okla.; and Elizabeth, Mrs. Charley Klassen of Salem, Oregon; two grandchildren, Raymond and Charles Hemphill.
