Iowa Resident Dies Suddenly in Florida

Kalona, Iowa. — Lewis S. Swartzendruber, 73, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of this community, died unexpectedly Feb. 2 at Sarasota, Fla. where he and his wife were spending the winter. He was ill only a few hours.

A son, Stanley Swartzendruber, and son-in-law, Ralph Miller, flew to Sarasota to assist their mother and sister, Lucille. while they were making preparations to return to Iowa, Mrs. Swartzendruber suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized.

The body of Mr. Swartzendruber was returned here, and funeral services were conducted Feb. 7 at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church.
