Also felt keenly by the ministry of Wellman is the passing of Eliza Wertz Swartzendruber, 77, on Jan. 22. She had her home with her youngest daughter Carrie and husband Min. Ezra Shenk of the Mennonite Mission church at Daytonville and was the grandmother of the young minister Max Yoder of the Wellman church. Her motto could well have been, “In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.” Modesty and quietness of manner, yet withal a warm friendliness marked her years.
