AARON A. SUKAU

Aaron A. Sukau was born Nov. 2, 1880, on a farm five miles northeast of Butterfield, Minn., and departed this life on Jan. 31, 1955, at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Sukau grew to manhood on the farm. His education consisted of public school and later German school. In his earlier years he served in various public capacities.

In 1901 he was baptized by the Elder Gehard [sic Gerhard] Neufeld, upon his confession of faith. He was united in marriage in the same year, Nov. 28, 1901, to Elizabeth Harder. They were blessed with one son and three daughters: Aaron Jr. of Reedley, Calif.; Elizabeth, (Mrs. Jacob E. Falk); Katharina (Mrs. Erdman Falk), and Marie, (Mrs. Henry J. Falk), all of Butterfield.

Mr. Sukau was occupied in farming until 1935 when he and his wife moved to Mt. Lake. His wife, Elizabeth, preceded him in death, departing this life on Oct. 29, 1945. He is also preceded in death by his mother who died in 1910 and by his father who died in 1927.

In the year 1946, Mr. Sukau was united in marriage to Mrs. Helen Falk, and together they shared joys and sorrows. Mr. Sukau was bedridden for a period of 13 months during which time Mrs. Sukau faithfully took care of him.

In September 1949 he broke his hip, from which, however, he fully recovered. Later he suffered strokes and a heart condition from which he was not able to recover. Thus the Lord has released him of his suffering. Mr. Sukau attained the age of 74 years, two months and 29 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure: his wife, Helen; one son; three daughters; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one brother, David of Portland, Ore.; five sisters, Margaret , (Mrs. Peter D. Harder) of Mt. Lake, Anna, (Mrs. George P. Klassen) of Mt. Lake, Maria, (Mrs. A. P. Enns) of Aberdeen, Idaho, Helen (Mrs. George H. Neufeld) of Wolf Point, Mont., Aganetha, (Mrs. A. B. Dick), of Aberdeen, Idaho.
