Manitoba Girl Drowns In Farm Dugout

Winkler, Manitoba. — Betty Lou Suderman, eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake P. Suderman of Winnipeg, drowned April 7 while playing on an ice-covered dugout at the farm of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Peters.

Betty Lou was playing with a neighbor's young son on the dugout when she fell through the ice into the water. She was in the water about 20 minutes before her body was recovered. Artificial respiration failed to revive her.

Funeral services were held April 10 at the South End M. B. Church in Winnipeg, with Rev. Henry Baerg officiating.
