POLIO CLAIMS LIVES OF YOUNG MAN, BOY IN SOUTHEASTERN IOWA
Wellman, Iowa. — Polio has claimed two more lives in the Mennonite community here.
Funeral services for Russell R, Stutzman, 26, son of Mrs. Anna Stutzman, were held at the Wellman Mennonite church Sept. 19, Max Yoder and Edward W. Diener in charge. He died of bulbar polio at University hospital, Iowa City, on Sept. 17.
A former Hesston College student, Russell was to have been married Oct. 23 to Mary Cressman of St. Jacobs, Ontario.
Services for Daniel Gingerich, eight year old son of Joe A. Gingerichs, were held Sept. 21 at the Fairview Conservative church near Kalona, and were largely attended. He is survived by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
