— Word has been received of the death of John D. G. Stucky, 74, retired farmer of Moundridge, which occurred on Monday. Funeral services were announced for 2:00 p. m. Thursday at the Eden Mennonite Church, with Rev. Arnold Nickel in charge.

JOHN D. G. STUCKY

John D. G. Stucky, son of Joshua P. and Frenie Schrag Stucky, was born Oct. 1, 1883, in McPherson County, Kan. He grew to manhood and received his education in the Moundridge community, and engaged in farming there throughout his active life.

He was baptized upon his confession of faith by Rev. Peter Balzer and united with the Hopefield Mennonite Church on Nov. 9, 1899. He was received into the fellowship of the Eden Mennonite Church on March 19, 1910, where he remained a faithful member to the end.

On Nov. 21, 1907, he was united in marriage with Sophia Flickner. Mr. and Mrs. Stucky spent fifty years of wedded life together. To this union were born five children, Milton and Elmer Stucky of Moundridge; Elva (Mrs. Floyd Dell) of San Leandro, Calif.; Marvin W., who preceded him in death on March 31, 1947; and Evelyn (Mrs. Irvin Harms) who passed away on May 5, 1952.

Following a lingering illness during the past several years, Mr. Stucky became critically ill and passed away on Jan.6,1958, at 10:30 a. m.

He leaves the following loved ones: His wife; three children; four daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Julius of Newton, Kan., Rudolph of Pretty Prairie, Kan., Jacob of Moundridge; two sisters, Lena (Mrs. Ferd Stucky) and Anna (Mrs. Otto Juhnke) of Newton, Kan. His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Eden Mennonite Church on Thursday, Jan. 9, 1958, at 2:00 p. m. with Rev. Arnold Nickel officiating. Interment was made at the Eden Cemetery.
