FERDINAND STUCKY

Ferdinand Stucky, son of Rev. Peter and Barbara Stucky, was born Aug. 21, 1887, in McPherson county, west of Moundridge, Kans. Upon confession of faith he was baptized by Rev. C. J. Goering May 18, 1902, and was received into the Eden Mennonite church of which he was a faithful member at the time of his death.

May 31, 1908, he was united in marriage with Emma Goering. This union was blessed with two sons and two daughters. On Nov. 28, 1929, the wife and mother passed away.

Oct. 5, 1930, he was united in marriage with Lena Stucky.

He was always in good health until about four years ago when he submitted to an operation from which he seemingly recovered, but two years later he suffered a stroke and all medical aid sought failed to bring a complete recovery, and from then on his health declined. He went through much suffering in the last year of his life. In spite of all the suffering the Lord gave him a clear awareness so that he could visit with his family and his many friends.

He passed away July 28, 1952, at the age of 64 years, 11 months, and seven days.

He is survived by his wife Lena, two sons and two daughters, Lena and her husband, Gideon J. Krehbiel of McPherson; Frieda and her husband, Jacob B. Flickner, Moundridge; Peter F. and his wife, Viola, Moundridge; Elmer F. and his wife Ericka, Hesston; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Aidna [sic Adina] Stucky of Moundridge, six brothers, Gideon of McPherson, Japhet, Napthali, Silvanus, of Moundridge, Asa of Elyria, Ephriam of Moundridge, and many other relatives and friends.

In Appreciation

The family wishes to express its gratitude for the many kindnesses shown in thought and deed during our husband and father's long illness while at home and in the hospital. We are especially grateful for your prayers and expressions of sympathy during this time of bereavement. May the Lord reward you for your thoughtfulness.
