Benjamin B. Stucky was born Feb. 27, 1894 to Benjamin J. and Maria Kaufman Stucky on a farm near Moundridge, Kan. He lived his entire life in the Moundridge community.

On Dec. 26, 1910 he was baptized by Elder Napoleon Kaufman upon his confession of faith and was accepted into the membership of the Hopefield Mennonite Church, of which he remained a member until death.

On Dec. 16, 1921 he was united in marriage to Anna Behr and they shared life's joys and sorrows for 43 years. To this union five children were born, three daughters and two sons.

On Friday, Dec. 13, he became ill. After a few days he suffered a severe stroke and was taken to the Mercy Hospital where he was under extensive care. Instead of improving he became continually weaker, until on the morning of Jan. 10, 1964 he quietly departed this life to be with his Saviour. He reached the age of 69 years, ten months and 13 days.

Those who remain to mourn his departure are his wife Anna, five children:: Hulda Flickner of Pretty Prairie, Esther and husband Weldon H. Vogt of Hesston, Edna and husband Martin J. T. Stucky of Galva, Harvey J. and wife Erna of Moundridge, Raymond B. and wife Nyla of Moundridge; 11 grandchildren, one sister, five sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, and a host of relatives and friends.
