AGED LANCASTER CO. BISHOP LEAVES 270 DESCENDANTS
Lancaster, Pa. — About 500 relatives and friends attended funeral services for Bishop Samuel M. Stoltzfus, 89, at his home near Elverson on April 13.
The venerable bishop of the Old Order Amish church, a retired farmer, passed away April 11 after a long illness. He leaves a total of 270 direct descendants, including seven daughters and seven sons, 105 grandchildren, and 151 great grandchildren. All of the children, and the grandchildren of mature age are affiliated with the Amish church.
He is also survived by his wife, two step-sons, two step-daughters, four sisters and a brother.
