— A pioneer resident of the Mountain Lake, Minn., community passed away recently at the age of 79. She was Anna Friesen Stoesz, wife of Rev. Jacob Stoesz, who in past years had served as minister of the First Mennonite church of Mountain Lake and of the First Mennonite church north of Butterfield. Mrs. Stoesz was born in South Russia on January 22, 1867, and emigrated to Canada with her parents in 1874. Two years later the family moved to Minnesota. She is survived by her husband, eight children and 24 grandchildren. Funeral services took place Oct. 2 at the Bethel Mennonite church with August Ewert of Omaha, Nebr., former pastor of the Gospel Mennonite church, preaching the sermon.
