HENRY STOBBE

Henry Stobbe of Hepburn, Sask. passed away peacefully on November 22. He was born to Herman and Maria Stobbe on March 27, 1904 aboard the ship which was bringing them to Canada from Russia. He spent his childhood in the Langham (Sask.) district. In 1931 he married Elsie Heppner, and they farmed a homestead for nine years. After that they moved to their present farm west of Hepburn. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour through the ministry of the J anz Team. He enjoyed good health until December 1977, when he had to go to hospital. While in hospital, his testimony was that the way to heaven was open and that the fear of death was gone.

He is survived by his wife Elsie; two daughters, Irene and Bill Hart of Saskatoon and Delores and David Warkentin of Spiritwood, Sask.; three sons, Arley and Diana of Hepburn, Wayne and Eunice of Hepburn and Wilmer of Saskatoon; nine grandchildren, four brothers, one sister and many other relatives and friends. The funeral service took place November 24 in the Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Church, with pastor John E. Klassen and Rev. Ben Heppner officiating.
