Eliza, daughter of Abraham and Miriam Moser Neuenschwander, was born Aug. 13, 1890, near Berne, Ind. At the age of 21 she moved to Wayne County, Ohio near Kidron, where she lived the remainder of her life.

In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour, was baptized and joined the Mennonite church, in which faith she was true until death.

On Dec. 17, 1914, she was married to John R. Steiner. Together they shared joys and sorrows for over 38 years. During the last 26 years she was afflicted with a heart ailment and on numerous occasions her passing was expected by the family. All sufferings she bore with patience.

On March 20, 1953, she suddenly passed away at the age of 62 years, seven months and seven days.

She is survived by her sorrowing companion, eight sons, Marvin, Cleophas, Carl, and Nathan of Dalton, Leo and Truman of Orrville, Tilman and Raymond and three daughters, Irene, Leah and Lila at home; 20 grandchildren; three brothers, Jacob of Kidron, Sam of Dalton, Amos of Berne, Ind; three sisters, Mrs. Amos Steiner and Mrs. Simon Nussbaum of Orrville, and Mrs. Lydia Steiner of Dalton, besides many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held on March 28 at the County Line (Wisler) Mennonite church, where their son Cleophas was ordained to the ministry a few years ago. Services were in charge of Rev. Good of Media county. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
