ABRAHAM H. STEINER

Abraham H. Steiner, 69, died at his home in Allen county, Indiana on October 8, 1952. He was one of nine children born to Jonathan and Salome (Holdeman) Steiner, McPherson county, Kansas. He spent the first 21 years of his life in Kansas, after which he visited relatives in Ohio, the birthplace of his father.

On Nov. 24, 1907, he was married to Rosa Gerig of near Grabill, Ind. and began farming on the land he owned at the time of his death.

As a young man he was converted and joined the Evangelical Mennonite church of Grabill, and remained a faithful member. He served as trustee at various times, and was a member of the board of trustees when the present building was erected.

In spite of physical afflictions, he always had a jovial personality which won him many friends. He possessed a simple and complete faith in his Lord, and never complained when the suffering became almost unbearable. The end came four and a half months after he underwent unsuccessful surgery. He had committed himself to the Lord for divine healing, but was resigned to the Lord's will, and expressed himself that he was ready for anything the Lord willed for his life.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Kimes, two grandsons, two brothers, Albert and David, four sisters. Mrs. Mary Gleckler, Mrs. Anna Jantz, Miss Lena Steiner, all of Kansas, and Mrs. Clara Fricke of Indianapolis, Ind. His father, mother and two brothers preceded him in death.
