Funeral Services Held For Cousins

TWO YOUNG FARMERS DIE IN DOUBLE TRAGEDY IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS

Metamora, Ill. — Two funeral services were held at the North Danvers Mennonite Church on Dec.30 for two farmers who died in a double tragedy.

Services for Harold Stahly, 33, of Danvers were held in the forenoon, and the services for Harry Stahly, 43, of Carlock took place in the afternoon.

The two men who were cousins, were traveling in Harold Stahly's car near Pekin Monday evening with Harry Stahly as driver when the car went off the highway, down a steep embankment and crashed into a tree. Harry was fatally injured.

Although suffering only a minor injury in the accident, Harold apparently was despondent over the death of his cousin and took his own life the following morning. The body was found Tuesday morning in a field near Carlock, a shotgun nearby.

Harold Stahly leaves his wife, a son and daughter, and his mother, Mrs. A. Parke Stahly. Harry Stahly is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter, two step-daughters, and his father.
