WELL-KNOWN OWNER OF KIDRON, OHIO AUCTION DEAD AT AGE 58

Kidron, Ohio. — Funeral services for S. C. Sprunger, 58, prominent auctioneer and owner of the widely known Kidron Auction, were held July 15 at the Desvoignes Funeral Home. Rev. James H. Reusser, pastor of the Salem Mennonite Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. A. S. Rosenberger.

Mr. Sprunger's body was found in the woods at his farm in Coshocton County on July 12, death apparently due to a self-inflicted bullet wound. With him were extensive notes written to his family and attorney. He had been in poor health and was scheduled to enter a Cleaveland [sic Cleveland] hospital for a check-up.

Mr. Sprunger was a lifelong resident here and the livestock auction which he founded in 1925 became a nationally known community institution. He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daugh- [end of article in the original]
