Dies in Accident At Ft. Wayne Dairy

Berne, Ind. — Funeral services were conducted at the First Mennonite church here Jan. 12 for Cornelius Sprunger, 54, former resident of this community who was killed Jan. 9 in the Fort Wayne dairy where he had been employed for 19 years.

Mr. Sprunger was reportedly standing on an eight-foot-high platform working on a large steam boiler when a plug blew out, releasing the steam with terrific force. He either jumped or was thrown to the floor below. Death was attributed to asphyxiation from the steam.

Since moving to Fort Wayne Mr. Sprunger had been attending the First Missionary church there. He leaves his wife, a 12-year-old daughter, four brothers and four sisters.
