EMMA SPRINGER

Emma Springer was born Aug. 4, 1896 at Minier, Ill., a daughter of Christian and Barbara Nafziger Kauffmann. She died at Maple Lawn Homes, rural Eureka, at the age of 85.

She married Alvin Springer Jan. 11, 1916 at Minier. He died in 1974.

Surviving are seven sons, Paul and Marvin of Tremont, Carrol of Hopedale, Mahlon of Tinley Park, Orval of Minier, Elmo of Stanford and Dick of Delavan; three daughters, Verna Shoemaker of Hesston, Kan., Ethel Sommer of Fisher and Kay Burmeister of Morton; a brother, John Kauffmann of Hopedale; three sisters, Katy and Bertha Kauffmann of Maple Lawn Homes and Anna Litwiller of Morton; 33 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Six brothers and sisters and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Hopedale Mennonite Church, where services were held, with Aden Yoder officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
