Two Nonagenarians Called By Death in Illinois

Metamora, Ill. — Death recently claimed two long-time residents of this area at the age of 90 and 91 years.

Mrs. Emma Springer, 91, a native of this vicinity, died at her home in Metamora on Feb. 9. Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at the Metamora Mennonite Church, with Rev. Roy Bucher in charge.

Mrs. Springer was the widow of Peter Springer. She leaves two sons, two daughters, grand-children, and one brother, Rev. Ben Esch of Tiskilwa.

Funeral services for Benjamin Springer, 90, who had lived on a farm near Washington for the past 50 years, were held Feb. 3 at the Calvary Mennonite Church there. Rev. Ward Shelly and Rev. Samuel Ummel officiated.

Mr. Springer was a native of France and came to this area in 1888. He leaves his wife, one daughter, one son, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
