CARRIE GRABER SPERLING

Carrie Graber was born to John J. D. and Catherine Graber on Aug. 16, 1876 in McPherson County, Kansas.

With her parents she attended the Eden Mennonite Church, was instructed in the Christian faith and baptized.

On March 14, 1902 she was united in marriage to John C. O. Sperling. They made their home in Pretty Prairie, Kansas until 1911 when they moved to California. In 1944 they returned to Kansas, living in Newton until 1962 when they made Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie, their home. Together they shared the blessings of the Lord for 64 years.

Through the years many people enjoyed the hospitality of their home. It was one of her greatest joys to entertain.

For 90 years the Lord had blessed her with good health and strength. However, on Dec. 5 she suffered a massive stroke from which she did not recover. She passed to her reward Dec. 10, 1966.

Mother has left behind her husband, John, of the Home; a son Homer and his wife, Colby, Kansas; one brother, john Graber, and one sister, Lydia Flickinger, both of Pretty Prairie, Kansas; and four grandchildren.
