Town's Oldest Merchant Is Called by Death.

Belleville, Pa., Nov. 28. — David H. Smucker died at his home on East Main Street, Belleville, Sunday evening, November 25, at 6:15 o'clock. Mr. Smucker was aged 84 years, 6 months and 25 days at the time of his death. he had been ailing for three months and death was caused by a complication of diseases.

Mr. Smucker was the son of John and Mary Smucker and was born May 19, 1850.

He was united in marriage on January 25, 1877 at Vicksburg, Union County, Pa., to Barbara G. Byler who survives him.

Mr. Smucker and his wife lived for a number of years after their marriage in Vicksburg from which place they removed to Belleville where they have been residents since that time.

Mr. Smucker was a life-long member of the Mennonite Church and was faithful in his church duties as long as his health would permit.

He was the town's oldest merchant.
