FORMER COLLEGE INSTRUCTOR DIED AT BLUFFTON

Bluffton, Ohio. — Funeral services for Boyd D. Smucker, 57, former professor at Bluffton College, were held here Saturday afternoon, August 10. Death came to Mr. Smucker in the Bluffton hospital, where he had been confined for several days seriously ill from double pneumonia and kidney complications.

Through his work as field secretary of Bluffton College and as instructor here and at Goshen, Ind., Mr. Smucker had become well known in Mennonite circles throughout the country.

Soon after his graduation from Goshen College in 1906, Mr. Smucker became instructor at Goshen, which position he held until 1913. Later he assumed a professorship at Bluffton college, in which capacity he served until recently, when he resigned to take a position with a school supply firm.

Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite church in Bluffton. mr. Smucker is survived by his wife and four sons.
