SARAH W. SLAGEL

Sarah W. Slagel, daughter of Jonathan and Anna (Widmer) Conrad, was born Dec. 15, 1891, at Wayland, Iowa, March 6, 1961 at St. Johns Hospial [sic], St. Johns, Mich., aged 69 years, two months and 18 days.

On Nov. 28, 1911 she was married to Elmer Slagel who died Jan. 29, 1960. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Doris Larkin, two infant children, one infant grandson and three sisters, Elizabeth, Ada and Mayme (Mrs. Otto Bontrager).

Surviving are seven daughters, Ruby of Midland, Mich., Lucille, Mrs. Linol Jolls of Maple Rapids, Mich., Ann, Mrs. Roy Walker of Midland, Betty, Mrs. Stanley Snyder, and Evelyn, Mrs. Clayton Sharick of St. Johns, Fern, Mrs. Karl Yoder of Dayton, Ohio, Carol of Denver Colo.; four sons, Allen of Ithaca, Mich., Roger of St. Louis, Warren of Wayland, Iowa, and Max at home; 29 grandchildren; one sister Anna, Mrs. Ottis Bontrager of Eureka, Mich.; one brother Daniel of Wayland, Iowa; three half-sisters, Edna and Esther of Lansing, and Arlene Mrs. Gary Hostettler, Louisville, Ohio.

She was a member of the Bethel Church, Ashley, Mich., where funeral services were held March 8 in charge of Kore Zook and Herman Weaver.
