ALVIN B. SLAGEL

Alvin B. Slagel, 53, died at 3.00 p. m. Monday at the state hospital, Logansport, Ind. to which he was admitted one hour earlier.

Mr. Slagel had been ill for several months and had been confined to a Maryland sanitarium for several weeks. He resided on a farm north of Goshen, Jefferson township, for several years.

Born in Woodford county, Ill., Mr. Slagel was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Slagel. He was a member of the Goshen College Mennonite church.

Surviving him are his wife, the former Helene Miller; two children, Janet and Kieth [sic]; two brothers. Edward, of Tucson, Ariz., and Elmer, of St Louis, Mich., and four sisters, Mrs. J. J. Zook, of St. Johns, Mich.; Mrs. Lucy Boshart, of Wayland, la.; Mrs. William Schatter, of Shipshewana; and Mrs. Joel Bachman, of Ontario, Calif.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 1:30 p. m. in the College Union building. S. C. Yoder and John Mosemann officiated and burial was made in the Elkhart Prairie (Alwine) cemetery.
