Mrs. Charles H. Sills

Mrs. Maude H. Sills, 103, a resident of Arkansas City most of her life, died Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian Manor in Newton where she had resided since Dec. 18, 1963.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a. m. Saturday in Riverview Cemetery at Arkansas City under the direction of Draper-Cannon Funeral Home in Newton. Deacon Doyle E. White will officiate.

She was born Dec. 17, 1876, at Arkansas City, the daughter of Theron R. and Helen J. Newman Houghton. On Aug. 4, 1903, she married Charles E. Sills at Arkansas City. He died Dec. 31, 1945.

She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Arkansas City.

Survivors include two sons, Earl H. Sills of Roanoke, Va., and Dr. Charles T. Sills of Newton; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Ralph, and one daughter, Mrs. Helen Speir.
