ANDREW A. SIEBRAND

Andrew A. Siebrand was born in Ostrog, Russia Nov. 12, 1867, and passed away March 28, 1952, in the Mercy hospital at Moundridge. He reached the age of 54 years, four months and two days. His death was caused by a blood clot and cancer.

In 1874 he came with his parents to America, arriving in Halstead where they began their pioneer life. Here he also grew to manhood.

In 1887 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jantz, and they made their first home in Moundridge where he became manager of the livery barn. To this union 14 children were born. They shared joys and sorrows together for over 65 years.

In 1907 they moved to Anadarka[sic Anadarko] and later Chickasha, Okla. where they lived on various farms.

In 1915 they moved back to Moundridge where they lived until his death. He served the community as a veterinarian for many years. This service had won for him a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.

He leaves to mourn him his sorrowing companion, two sons, Henry of Chickasha, Okla. and Dan of Lamar, Colo.; six daughters, Amelia, Mrs. Amos Becker of Moundridge, Anna, Mrs. George Alba of Lamar, Colo., Lena, Mrs. Art Bliss of Burrton, Susie, Mrs. Harry Wells of Canton, Elizabeth, Mrs. Willie Becker of Moundridge, Josephine, Mrs. Raymond Loewen of Ogden, Utah; 77 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren. Four sons and two daughters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 31, 1952, in the Lonetree church with Min. John Becker and Min. Jonas Koehn officiating. Burial was in the Lonetree cemetery.
