MRS. H. D. H. SHOWALTER

Mrs. H. D. H. Showalter of Park View, Harrisonburg, Va., daughter of the late Jacob A. and Emma Craig Grove, was born near Waynesboro, Va. on May 2,1886. She was killed instantly in an automobile-truck collision on Nov. 14, 1956, near Broadway, Va.

On Oct. 28, 1908, she was married to Howard D. H. Showalter of Broadway, Va., who survives. Besides her husband she leaves nine children, as follows: Carl G. of Broadway; Mary Emma of the Eastern Mennonite College faculty; Howard D. and Jacob D. of Broadway; Owen F. of Timberville, Va.; Kathryn (Mrs. Samuel S. Shank) of Broadway; Ethel (Mrs. Lewis E. Strite) of Harrisonburg; James E. of Broadway; and Doris (Mrs. Norveil Trumbo) of Broadway. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. J. H. Weaver of Waynesboro, Va.; and a brother, W. I. Grove of Staunton, Va.

Soon after her marriage she accepted Christ as her Saviour and became a member of the Mennonite church. she was a faithful member of the Trissels congregation near Broadway, Va. until her death. The last day of her life was spent as the church sewing for relief. She was a devoted wife and mother and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Funeral services were held at the Trissels Mennonite Church on Nov.17 incharge of John B. Mumaw, assisted by J. L. Stauffer and Norman Yutzy.
