DANIEL D. SHENK

Daniel David Shenk was born Dec. 23, 1894, to David and Matilda (Hilty) Shenk of Elida, Ohio. When he was 5 years old, the family moved to Denbigh, Va., where he spent most of the remainder of his life.

He also showed a keen interest in the mission work of the Mennonite Church, spending nearly a year in both Honduras and Jamaica, assisting in the building of churches in those countries. He also distributed many gospel tracts as he and his wife traveled between Virginia and Idaho, where they made their home for a 12-yeaar period.

They moved to Oak Lee Nursing Home, Harrisonburg, Va. in May 1987. She died March 10, 1988. He died Jan. 6, 1989, at age 94.
