PAUL WILLIAM SHANK

Paul William Shank, 97, of Goshen, Ind., died Dec. 21, 2009, at Greencroft Goshen. He was born Dec. 7, 1912, to Clinton and Edith (Rutherford) Shank in Greencastle, Pa.

For 18 years he worked at Hagerstown (Md.) Shoe Co., followed by 20 years of work at Mennonite Publishing House in Scottdale, Pa. In December 1977 he retired from Menno Travel Service of Goshen. He was a member of College Mennonite Church of Goshen.

He married Edna Catherine Martin on June 14, 1936, in Hagerstown, Md. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Dottie Kauffmann and her husband, Duane, of Goshen and Carol Wolfer and her husband, Dan, of Middlebury; three sons, Lowell Shank of Bowling Green, Ky., Philip Shank and his wife, Carol, of Fort Wayne, and Stephen Shank and his wife, Donna Snyder, of Goshen; a brother, Lester Shank of Lititz, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna; a sister, Gladys Shank; and a brother, Earl Shank.
