GRACE H. SEITZ

Grace Rittenhouse Heebner Seitz, 92, of Harrisonburg, Va., died Dec. 20, 2007, at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Center, where she was a resident. She was born June 4, 1915, to Albert Landis and Alice Ziegler Rittenhouse Heebner in Lansdale, Pa.

On March 28, 1937, she married Kenneth L. Seitz.

She and her husband served as missionaries in Mexico City from 1958 to 1978. For the next five years, they served at Line Lexington (Pa.) Mennonite Church. She volunteered for the Gift and Thrift stores in both Souderton, Pa., and Harrisonburg, Va., from 1985 to 2002. She made numerous quilts that she donated to the Mennonite Central Committee relief sale. She was a member of Mount Clinton Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth L. Seitz; three sons, Kenneth and his wife, Kathryn, of Beirut, Lebanon, Delbert and his wife, Mary Friesen, of Lancaster, Pa., and David and his wife, Christine, of Mishawaka, Ind.; three daughters, Lois Kreider and her husband, Philip, of Harrisonburg, Eunice Wenger and her husband, Wade, of Granger, Ind., and Frances Justice and her husband, Larry, of Dayton; a sister, Sara H. Benner of Souderton, Pa.; a brother, Albert Heebner of Danville, Pa.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Carl Seitz.

Funeral services were held at Mount Clinton Mennonite Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
