Well Known Amish Resident Died

Berne, Ind. — Peter A. Schwartz, 80, a native of the Amish community here and well known as a carpenter, died June 23 at the Sturgis, Mich. hospital. The body was returned here for funeral services at the home of his son, Joseph P. Schwartz, northeast of Berne on June 26.

Bro. Swartz spent most of his life in this community, having gone to Michigan some time ago to assist his son, Jacob F. Schwartz, in the carpentry trade. He was the last of a family of 13 children, two brothers having died in recent months.

Surviving are five children and a number of grandchildren.
