Mrs. Pauline Schwartz

Mrs. Pauline Schwartz, 60, died at her home at Monroe, Washington, Tuesday Dec. 31, 1940, after a prolonged illness. She was a native of South Russia and was born December 21, 1880. She had been a resident of the United States since 1901 and of Monroe since 1914.

Surviving are her husband, John A. Schwartz, a daughter, Miss Lena Schwartz and a son Reuben Schwartz, at the family home just north of Monroe; and also a son Rudy Schwartz of Monroe; three grandchildren; a brother, August Montie of Monroe; and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Flickner, Route 2, Monroe, and Mrs. Lena Reynolds of Berkeley, California.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday Jan.1, 1941, at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Schwartz was a charter member of the Mennonite church.

Rev. M. M. Lehmann officiated. The congregation sang "Nearer My God to Thee," and a duet sang "Saved by Grace," and also "Shall You, Shall I?"

Rev. Lehman [sic Lehmann] spoke words of comfort from the 11th chapter of the Gospel of St. John.
