JOHN J. SCHARTZ

Funeral services were held Sept. 6 at the First Mennonite Church of Monroe, Wash. for John J. Schwartz, who died suddenly at his home Sept. 2. Rev. George Kopper officiated.

Mr. Schwartz was born Feb. 28, 1881 in South Dakota and came to Monroe in 1918. He was a member of the Mennonite church.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Lydia; three sons, Clarence of Route 1, Monroe, Emil of Mendota, Calif., and Alfred of Paso Robles, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Jake Flickinger of Burrton, Kan., Mrs. Henry Gerber of Route 2, Monroe, Mrs. Harry Albrecht of The Dalles, Oregon, Mrs. Alvin Clark and Mrs. Robert Hanson, both of Seattle, Wash.; 34 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jake of Oklahoma, Daniel of California, Joe of Route 1, Monroe, and Henry of Bellingham, Wash.; and three sisters, Mrs. Katie Zerger of Monroe, Mary Hogan of Stillicom [sic Stellacoom], Wash. an Mrs. Lydia Renner of Renton, Wash.

Those whom he left behind may rejoice that he is with Jesus, Whom he loved and served.
