text of obituary:

MRS. FANNY SCHWARTZ

Fanny Albrecht Schwartz, daughter of Joseph and Anna Albrecht, was born in South Russia on Aug. 1, 1871, and departed this life on Oct. 2, 1947, at the age of 76 years, two months and one day.

At the age of three years she came with her parents to America, a fact that cast her lot into the experiences of the pioneer days. They settled temporarily in Illinois, and later made their home in Kansas, first in Harvey county and later in Reno county near Pretty Prairie.

At the age of 15 she joined the First Mennonite church of Pretty Prairie through the holy rite of baptism, and remained a faithful member to the end. On Feb. 25, 1892, she was joined in Holy Wedlock with Jacob A. Schwartz, with whom she was privileged to share the joys and sorrows of this life for 55 years. The Lord blessed this union with 10 children. One son and one grandchild preceded her in death.

She was a meek and quiet mother who earnestly strove to bring up her children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

She leaves to mourn her departure her sorrowing husband; three daughters and six sons, Mrs. Herman D. Graber, Mrs. Edwin J. Goering, Emma Schwartz, Ed., Ruby J., and Arthur Schwartz; three brothers and one sister; 18 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
