SAMUEL SCHULTZ

Samuel Schultz, son of Abraham and Elizabeth (Voth) Schultz, was born on Sept. 7, 1886, in McPherson County, Kansas. He answered the call to his heavenly home on Monday evening, Feb. 25, 1957, attaining the age of 70 years, five months and 18 days. Father has been in failing health for many years. On Sunday, February 24, he became very ill due to a diabetic condition. He was taken to the General Hospital where he passed away on Monday evening at 8:00 p.m.

In 1900 at the age of 13 he came with his parents to the Indian Territory of Oklahoma, settling on a farm near Meno. It was here that he grew to manhood during the pioneering days of Oklahoma.

On April 16, 1908, he was united in marriage to Mollie Pjesky. They established their home on a farm near Hillsdale, Okla. This was their home until 1943 when they moved to Goltry where they spent the remainder of their life together. The Lord blessed their home with two sons, Daniel and Frank. It was their joy to spend 49 years of married life together. Many were the trials and testing, but also the joys and blessings.

On November 9, 1913, he was baptized upon his confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and joined the Mennonite church of Goltry. Here he remained a member until his death. It was during the last years that he suffered much due to illness. When the time came to be ushered into the presence of the Lord he was ready. His last words to his wife were "I am ready to go."

He leaves to mourn his departure, his dear wife; two sons, Dan and Frank, both of Hillsdale; two daughters-in0law; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Tobe of Meno; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Buller, Goltry, Mrs. Katie Decker, Halstead, Ks., Mrs. Anna Buller, Enid; many friends and relatives. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
