MRS. EFFIE SCHULTZ

Mrs. Effie Schultz, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Peter H. Dirks, was born at Pawnee Rock on July 30, 1879, and went to her eternal Home, after a lingering illness, at 11:30 a.m. on April 23, 1952.

On June 10, 1894, upon confession of faith she was baptized and became a member of the local Mennonite church. She maintained a life long interest, in all church work, serving as president of the mission society for a period of 25 years. As wife of a church deacon there fell to her many tasks which she always did most willingly. Visiting ministers to the church enjoyed the hospitality of their home on many occasions.

On February 23, 1898, she was united in marriage to Henry C. Schultz and shared joys and sorrows for over 54 years. From this union three children, Lorena, Dorris and Bert were born. The daughter Lorena and the son Bert preceded her in death. She was ever a loving wife to her husband an affectionate mother to her children and was most interested in the activities of her grandsons.

Mr. and Mrs. Schultz had the blessed privilege of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in 1948, with a church program in the midst of many relatives and friends.

Mrs. Schultz reached an age of 72 years, eight months and 21 days. She leaves to mourn he departure her husband Henry Schultz, a daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. George Penner, and two grandsons, Keith and Donald Penner; also two brothers, P. J Deckert and Adam Dirks; four sisters, Helena, Mrs. John Unruh, Anna, Mrs. Henry C. Jantz, Susie Mrs. P. H. Unruh, and Lorena, Mrs. Herman S. Kliewer, together with many other relatives, friend and neighbors.
