MRS. PAUL SCHROEDER

Ruth Reusser Schroeder, our beloved wife and mother, daughter of Christ and Rebecca (Neuenschwander) Reusser, was born Nov. 26, 1896 in Harvey County, Kansas near Moundridge, and quietly passed away Nov. 16, 1962, reaching the age of 65 years, 11 months and 20 days. Two sisters, Mrs. Lavina Lichti and Mrs. Ella Sprunger, and four brothers, Edward, William, Menno, and Albert, preceded him in death.

When she was six months old she with her parents moved to Berne, Ind. where she grew to womanhood.

On Nov. 27, 1921, she was united in marriage to Paul G. Schroeder and they made their home near Halstead, sharing life's joys and sorrows for almost 41 years. To this union three sons were born: Richard Paul, who died at birth; Robert Wayne of Dodge City; and Howard James of rural Halstead.

In early life she felt the need of salvation and trusted the Lord as her Saviour. Upon her confession of faith she was baptized and received as a member of the Berne Mennonite Church by Rev. J. W. Kliewer on June 25, 1911. At present she was a member of the Garden Mennonite Church, where she served faithfully till her death.

She will be long remembered as a devoted, loving wife and mother and grandmother. She had a wide circle of friends who will miss her friendliness and hospitality. After an extended illness she expressed her desire to be with the Lord, leaving this life with peace and joy.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Paul G.; two sons, Robert and wife Maxine of Dodge City, Howard and wife Eldred of rural Halstead; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Heintzelman of Moundridge, Mrs. Lucy Gillion of Berne, Ind., Mrs. Rose Roth of Geneva, ind., Mrs. Hilda Dester of Greencastle, Ind.; and one brother, Walter Reusser of Berne.

Funeral services were held Nov. 19, 1962 in the Garden Mennonite Church with Rev. Marvin Wall officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
