Mrs. Henry Schroeder

Mt. Lake, Minn., Feb. 14. — Mrs. Henry Schroeder, aged seventy-three years, was laid to rest in the local cemetery yesterday afternoon, following funeral services in the Bethel church, in charge of Rev. J. J. Balzer. Death came as the result of a siege of flu which first made its claim on December 28th. She rallied somewhat, but suffered a relapse on January 10th, and was unable to regain her feet again.

The deceased was born in Rudnerweide, South Russia on April 10, 1855. Here she spent her childhood days, attending school until she was twelve years old. In 1876 she came to this country with her parents, settling on a farm southwest of Mountain Lake. On Nov. 29, 1877, she was united in marriage to Henry Schroeder. Until 1895 they lived on a farm one mile south of Mountain Lake, and at that time moved to the farm at the west city limits, where she has resided until her death. Her husband died a year and four months ago, and they missed their golden anniversary by less than three months. — Observer.
