CARRIE REBECCA SCHROCK

Carrie Rebecca Schrock, daughter of Levi D. and Nettie O. (Yoder) Zook, was born near Gunn City, Mo. on March 11, 1908. Her death on March 2, 1974 occurred at the Cass County Hospital in Harrisonville, Mo.

On Oct. 18, 1930 she was married to Lawrence A. Schrock of Garden City, Mo. where they lived until 1969 when they moved to Harrisonville.

Three sons and three daughters were born to this union. Surviving are her husband and children, James Allen, Richard Lee and David Mure of the home community; Carole Jean of Harlan, Ky; nine grandsons and one granddaughter. Preceding her in death were two daughters, a stillborn infant in 1941, and Alberta June, age 11, in 1943.

Surviving also are two brothers, Jonathan of Portland, Ore. and Ira of Hesston, Kan.; two sisters, Lydia and Phebe (Mrs. Harold Hershberger) of Harrisonville. One sister also preceded her in death.

Carrie had been a member of the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church near Garden City, Mo. from her youth until three years ago when she and her husband transferred their membership to the Harrisonville Mennonite Church. She was a faithful and active member until her death.

For the past five years Carrie assisted as teacher at Kinder Kastle, a pre-school sponsored by the Harrisonville Mennonite Church, where she served lovingly and uncomplainingly, even after she became ill. Here she won the hearts of many children, their parents and her co-workers and she will be long remembered as "Miss Carrie."
