text of obituary:

Automobile Accident Is Fatal to Freeman College Instructor.

Freeman, S. D., Oct. 1 — The people of Freeman were shocked to hear Saturday that Prof. Chas. Schrag, teacher of the Freeman Public School, was fatally hurt in an auto accident.

Saturday morning he took his father-in-law's, Elias J. Schrag's truck and drove south on the gravel road between the North and the South churches in East Freeman. When he reached Highway No. 44 a car came from the west and not seeing each other, the truck hit the car. Mr. Andrews, who was driving east, was not hurt much but Schrag was picked up unconscious and was bleeding profusely and was taken to the Yankton hospital. His head was in such a shape that the doctors considered the case a hopeless one. He lived till 3 o'clock in the night but never regained consciousness. Prof. Jansig of Bridgewater, son of Rev. Janzig, will fill the vacancy caused by this sudden death. Freeman Courier.
