EARLY SETTLER IN KANSAS COMMUNITY PASSED AWAY
Moundridge, Kansas. — Peter C. Schowalter, a resident of this community since the founding of the town of Moundridge in 1886, died rather suddenly of a heart attack at his home here on Monday evening, March 17.
Mr. Schowalter was widely known in this vicinity, having operated a general store here from 1889 until 1912, when he retired. He was born near Donnellson, Iowa, on January 11, 1862.
Funeral services were held at the West Zion Mennonite church on Friday afternoon, March 21, with Rev. W. F. Unruh officiating.
