— Abe K. Schowalter, one of the older settlers of Halstead, Kansas, died at the home on the morning of April 10. He was born on January 14, 1868, at Hammerhof, Bavaria, but immigrated to America in 1890. His parents were members of the Mennonite church at Eichstock, Bavaria. Funeral services for Mr. Schowalter were held at the Halstead Mennonite church last Saturday.
