— Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Oct. 16, at Halstead, Kansas, for Jacob F. Schmutz, one of the community's oldest citizens. Mr. Schmutz, who reached the age of 83 years, died at his farm home four and one-half miles south of that city, after having lived on the same farm for 58 years. The funeral services were conducted by the local pastor, Rev. D. C. Wedel.
