— Funeral services were held at the Alexanderwohl church Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Goossen Schmidt, 70, wife of H. D. G. Schmidt of Hillsboro, who passed away at her home there on Friday morning, Jan. 28. Rev. P. A. Wedel officiated. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Schmidt leaves four daughters and two sons: Mrs. Chris Klassen, Mrs. George Schroeder, and Mrs. John Klassen of Newton, and Mrs. Ernest Duerksen, Henry M. Schmidt, and Jacob P. Schmidt of Hillsboro. Five sisters, all residing in the Hillsboro vicinity, also survive.
